🍏 Vendor Feature- Teesdale Orchard 🌽
Meet Andrew and Joanne from Teesdale Orchard.
As founding stallholders of the Gisborne Farmers’ Market, they’ve been part of the market for over 20 years, continuing a family orchard first established in 1956 and taken over by them in 1981.
Their stall is filled with seasonal produce—sweet corn, tomatoes, butternut squash, and a variety of tree-ripened fruit, including nectarines, plums, peaches, pears, and apples. Joanne’s favourite are the George Wilson plums, while Andrew looks forward to the yellow flesh nectarines each season.
They mostly run the orchard themselves, bringing in a couple of extra hands during the busy season. With changing weather in recent years, they say being adaptable is more important than ever.
